MOODS & MOMENTS: #OtisRedding 'Don't Miss Your Water' [audio]

Raw and unexposed
Like  a quarry

In the wee hours of the morning
I gaze out the bay windows
The Darkness is calming
Yet scary.
What is yet to come?
How will I navigate now that I have been left here.

Once you know, you can't unknow
When you have seen you can not unsee
Once vested you can not divest
All in, now you must tow the line

You've been wronged
Stifled and left for dead
Thirsty but no water to drink
The Well is dry
The stream is polluted with the lies and the cries
Remnants of the party strewn on the shore
Aching down deep to the bottom of the core.
Remember when the time was on your side
What once was so NICE cuts
The knife has two sides
How can you cut the stale loaf and not cut yourself
But you have to live
You must survive.

The juice has fermented
And now the Ale is all you have to hydrate.
Now you miss the water
That was clean and clear
Crisp and refreshing
The remedy for all ailment.

Now it's dry. I want to go back
I want to go back.

Do you know who I am?
Do you even care.
Now you miss what was once there and so APPARENTLY clear
You are just left there to fend for yourself
In a quarry of BLUE openness.

Inspired by Otis Redding's 'Don't Miss Your Water' from Otis Blue.  It spoke to me so I spoke to you.

The MOODS & MOMENTS Jam of the day....
