When Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson first hinted at a relationship on 'Basketball Wives' I knew from the start that those two personalities would be too fiery to last. But I never thought things would get this bad. At 1st, Chad was fighting the divorce in hopes of winning his wife back, but it appears he has finally accepted defeat.
Sources have learned that Johnson has indeed conceded and has filed divorce documents. He finally admits the marriage is "irretrievably broken" .
Johnson filed his divorce papers yesterday in a Florida court in response to the documents Evelyn filed back on August 14.
In his documentation, Chad admits the two have a prenuptial agreement and he wants to make sure it gets enforced. Part of the prenuptial agreement talks about lawyers fees--who pays for what.
According to the agreement, Johnson wants a judge to block Evelyn's request that he pays for her legal fees, citing a provision in the prenup in which the two sides agreed to pay their own way if they were to split up.
Lozada has been vocal about wanting to move on from Chad and get her life back, so her lawyers may actually go along with this. We will see how this pans out.
